(Who is God?-Part 2)

Have you ever tried to imagine what existed before everything began? Not just before your life—but before time itself?

The answer isn’t “nothing.” The answer is God.

And the same God who existed before time began stepped into time—taking on flesh, dying on a cross, and rising again. The resurrection of Jesus is not just an event in history; it is the ultimate proof that God is not bound by time, death, or anything in creation.

To understand what that really means, we have to go back—not just to the beginning of our lives, but to the beginning of time itself.

Before God spoke the universe into existence, there was nothing. No space, time, or matter of any kind existed. There was only God. One of the most challenging concepts for us—beings bound by time and living in a universe constrained by it—is understanding that God’s existence before creation was without any concept of linear time. The beginning of the universe and the start of time happened together at God’s command.

God exists outside of time. Yet His presence spans all moments of our linear timeline at once. For example, He can see you right now reading this, and simultaneously observe your birth, your first steps, and the day you take your last breath and leave this earth. He holds all of creation in perfect awareness, giving full attention to every moment across all time and space. It’s an absolutely mind-blowing realization!

God is not part of the physical universe, had no beginning, and will have no end. He exists infinitely outside of time and space and is present everywhere throughout His creation. As such, He sovereignly oversees and orchestrates everything that happens. In the book of Revelation, God tells us,

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. -Revelation 21:6

And through the prophet Isaiah, He instructs us.

… remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
    I am God, and there is none like me,
declaring the end from the beginning
    and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
    and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
calling a bird of prey from the east,
    the man of my counsel from a far country.
I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;
    I have purposed, and I will do it. -Isaiah 46:9-11

We also learn here that God is purposeful, determined, and unwavering. Everything He has created from the beginning has a purpose. God established the entire timeline. It remains constant because He is unchanging. Therefore, everything will happen according to His ultimate plan and purpose. We can do nothing to thwart His plans, alter them, or prevent Him from fulfilling them.

When we begin to understand that God exists outside of time, yet stepped into time through Jesus—and conquered death through the resurrection—everything changes.

The future is no longer something to fear. It is already known, already seen, and already held by the One who overcame the grave.

The same God who stood at the beginning of creation is already present in your tomorrow. And the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in your life today.

That means your story is not random. Your struggles are not unseen. And your ending is not uncertain.

Because in Christ, death is not the end—it is the doorway to eternal life. And the God who declares the end from the beginning has already secured your hope.

If you don’t yet know God personally, or have never accepted His gift of salvation, don’t wait.

Turn to Him today. Ask Him to forgive your sins, to save you, and to welcome you into His family.

Eternity is not uncertain—it is promised to those who are His. And nothing can ever take them out of His hands.
