In this post, I will wrap up my reflections on Psalm 96.

10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!
    Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
    he will judge the peoples with equity.”

The Lord is sovereign over all of creation. The world, and everything in it, has been firmly set in place. God exists outside of time and space and has established the entire timeline, not only of humanity but the entire existence of the manifested universe. The order of events is set and will not change.

The Lord is the ruler and judge over the affairs of mankind. His judgments are fair and impartial.

Therefore…

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
    let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12     let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy
13     before the Lord, for he comes,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

God is righteous in all that He does and is faithful to fulfill His promises. The time for judgment is set. The Lord will come and judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in faithfulness.

No one is personally righteous and is deserving of punishment. When an individual places his or her faith in Jesus for forgiveness, God sees that individual through Christ’s righteousness.

Any individuals who build their lives on a foundation other than the atoning work of Jesus’ death and resurrection are still in sin and subject to the judgment of God on sin.

Those in Christ will be judged, but only regarding the identification of rewards for service done in Jesus name.

God’s offer of salvation is free and available to everyone. Jesus died so that all who place their faith and trust in Him will be saved .

He is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory.

The stage is set, all characters are in place, and the timeline is set in stone.

The judge is coming, and Judgment is sure.

On what foundation is your life built? If not on Christ, you are still in your sin.

Choose Jesus today, accept God’s gift of salvation, and receive the forgiveness of God and eternal life in Him.
